'Don't Fence Me In' is a sweet and charming look
at a couple during very precise point in American
history...Arkins has created a wonderful sweet
romance that offers a tightly focused study of
several well-meaning people, that allows us a larger
picture of the community. No matter what your
preferred romance genre, you will enjoy this work.
It will leave you full of hope, make you laugh, and
leave you expecting good surprises. -

A simply beautiful story. Lizzie and Jeremy are captivating characters and
the period details are wonderful. Marianne Arkins captures the pathos of war
in this perfect Korean War-era confection. I loved it! -

What a happy
ending (falling in love when peace
comes) to a sad beginning (her brother
and his best friend dies during Korean
War). This was a nice short story filled
with love and tenderness

DON’T FENCE
ME IN is a sweet and poignant story of those
left behind... I was captured by the sadness
Jeremy had a hard time getting past and felt my
heart break a little....The journey to love is a
smooth one as Jeremy and Lizzy discover the
healing power of their love. I look forward to
reading more by Marianne Arkins; she certainly
made an emotional connection through her
characters.

Marianne Arkins tugs at the
heartstrings of anyone who has known someone in the service. Well
researched, the setting is a sign of the times in the early 1950’s.
Don’t Fence Me In is a good solid short story well worth reading.
